Describely emerges as a game-changer in the realm of AI content generation, especially tailored for e-commerce product content. With its user-friendly interface reminiscent of popular e-commerce platforms, it offers a seamless experience for both beginners and seasoned online store owners.

The bulk editing capabilities of Describely are unparalleled, drastically reducing the time and effort required to maintain and enhance product listings. This feature alone sets it apart from other AI content generators in the market.

Without any further ado let us begin our Describely Review. Describely is a recently launched AI content generator. It is designed by the creators of Copysmith, and has replaced Copysmith (you can read more about that over here Introducing Describely!) as the companys’ main product. In comparison to Copysmith, which had a more general approach to content generation, Describely’s sole purpose is to assist in the creation and quick update of e-commerce product content.

Although many other AI writers out there offer nice content generation options for product titles and descriptions, Describely takes it a step further by offering a fast way of updating your products in bulk.

In this review, I’ll show you around the Describely interface, test the Shopify integration, and it’s efficiency in generating quality product content.

I will start with one of the things that makes Describely stand out – the UI.

UI & Features

What I really like about the Describley UI is that it has the look and feel of dashboards used by e-commerce platforms. The main dashboard is well organized and gives you quick access to important resources and actions to get you started right away.

I enjoy the “Sample catalog” feature as it allows you to get used to the commands and interface without having first to add your products.

Another two actions available directly in the dashboard are “Connect Store” & “New Product”.

Connect a new store

“Connect store” has seven options available.

Six platform integrations: Shopify, Amazon, Salsify, Wix, WooCommerce and SquareSpace.
Manual Upload: Upload CSV file

I have created a short demonstration of integrating Describely with Shopify and how to create & manage product content directly from Describely. But for now, let’s continue with the rest of the features.

Adding a new product

“New Product” allows you to add new products to new or existing catalogs. When adding new products in Describely, you can fill in the following:

Product Image
Product Title
SKU
Product Description
Product Tags
Features

Once you’ve filled it in, you are redirected to a new editor, where you can generate new and better content for the newly created product. You also have the option to fine-tune for better SEO.

AI Product Editor

The editor acts as an AI assistant. Based on the info you added for each product, it generates a better-optimized title, description, and tags.

You can select a specific tone from a list of nine available tones. You also have the option to add tags that you consider relevant.

The quick menu in the top right corner of the generated content box gives you two options.

“Save Version” – To replace the current tile, description, and tags with the ones that were generated
“Edit Product” – To edit the text generated by the AI before using it to replace the original version.

You can also give other commands to the AI assistant. If, for example you would like to make a specific feature stand out, you can tell the chatbot to rewrite the text and make that happen. For example, below, I tell the AI to say that my plastic containers are also lightweight.

If I am happy with the newly generated content, I use the “Save Version” option.

If your online store is linked to Describely you can use the “Publish to Shopify”(or what platform you are using) to publish it in the store.

Bulk Product Updates

What I enjoyed the most about using Describly is the ease with which you can generate bulk content for your product and update it in bulk.

When you go inside a catalog, once you select “Bulk Actions, you will see a new option bar and the option to select multiple products.

Here, you have five options available:

Deactivate: Use to set a product as inactive in Describely.
AI Rules: This is a very important feature as it allows you to set custom rules for how the content should be written
Download CSV: You can use this option if you want to upload the products manually.

Bulk Publish: Select the products you want and use this option to add/update the product in your online store
Bulk Generate: Use this option to select and generate the content you want to add/update.

This is an incredibly powerful tool for any online store owner. For me, it lowered the time for updating the content for a set of 6 products from 20-30 minutes to 5 minutes.

Of all the features that Describley provides, this has the most value.

Ease of Use

I couldn't write this Describely review without mentioning this.

Besides the store connection that requires a bit of tinkering, Describley is easy to use. The fact that the UI is inspired by online store UIs makes navigation very easy for anyone who has ever had to deal with an e-commerce store.

Describely also offers nice tutorials for its users, making the getting started process much easier.

Speed and Efficiency

When it comes to speed, the AI writer does very well. For example, you can bulk-generate titles, descriptions, and tag content for six products in less than 10 seconds. Having the UI designed after major e-commerce providers makes the navigation easy to understand for anyone with an e-commerce experience.

For its purpose, Describely excels in the efficiency category. No other AI writer can beat it when it comes to the speed with which you can update the product content. All thanks to the bulk editing features.

Pricing Options

Being a newly launched product, Describely has really accessible pricing options.

You can start testing the product for free and generate content for five products. But you should really go for the Core version, which has a monthly cost of $9(even cheaper with the yearly subscription).

It offers unlimited generations and more monthly bulk edits than you’d ever need.

There is also an Enterprise version, but it focuses more on bigger e-commerce businesses that need major monthly content generation.

Customer Support

The Describely customer support is great.

Although it is currently available only by email, the team is very responsive. I had three support requests, and for each of them, I got a reply the same day.

Some of them require a bit of technical knowledge to configure, but the resources available on the website and the support team make the process easy to follow.
