How to create a dropshipping store?
AI is changing everything. E-commerce is one of the niches that benefits the most. If you ever wanted to create a dropshipping store but were unsure you could make it work, let me show you how you can use AI and one of the most popular e-commerce platforms to start an online store in no more than 37 minutes.
How does it work?
Aliexpress is by far the most popular platform among drop shippers. But as it offers no options to link your Aliexpress account with Shopify, we will use a 3rd party service called DSers. This will allow you to automatically import Aliexpress products into your Shopify store.
Once the product has been imported, you’ll notice that titles and product descriptions have a very hard-to-read format and also lack consistency (because vendors may vary).
Note: Adding, optimizing, and managing product titles and descriptions is the most time-consuming activity for an online store. In the next paragraphs, you will learn how you can take care of this task in less than a minute. So keep reading.
Now it’s for Decribely to come into play. Linking your Shopify store to Describely will let you import all Shopify products in Describly, then use AI to optimize titles and descriptions and update the product in Shopify.
This is the process in a nutshell. Now make sure that you have an account created on all the platforms and let’s get started with the configuration.
Prerequisites:
- An Aliexpress account – for finding products to sell
- A Shopify account – for creating the online store
- A DSers Account – for easy importing of Aliexpress products in Shopify
- A Describely account for creating professional product titles and descriptions
- A company(or financial entity) that you need to use for billing customers.
Ready? Let’s begin!
Connecting the Shopify account with DSers
The first thing you need to do is to link your Shopify account with DSers for easy product importing. This can be done in 5 easy steps:
Step 1:
Log into your Shopify account and search for “dsers” in the main search bar. Then select the app store search option.
Step 2:
Select the official DSers app and press install.
Step 3:
Next, confirm that you are installing it in the correct account
Step 4:
Choose the “Install app” option from the Shopify Dashboard
Step 5: Check if the linking was successful by visiting Setting->Stores in your DSers account
Connect Shopify to Describely
Connecting Describley to Shopify is a bit more technical. You must create an app in Shopify and an access token to make the linking possible. But don’t worry, I’ll make it very easy to follow.
Step 1:
Log into Describely select the “Connect Store” action and choose Shopify.
Step 2:
Add your shopify shop ID (in bold) that can be found in the store URL -> https://admin.shopify.com/store/21af8c
Step 3:
Go to Shopify and Access Setting->Apps and sales channels->Develop Apps
Step 4:
After choosing allow app development, click on the “Create an app” option and name your app (e.g., Describely)
Step 5:
Click “Configure Admin API access scopes” select the “write_product” and “read_product” from the list of scopes and click “Save”
Step 6:
Click “Save” & “Install App”
Step 7:
Click “Reveal key”, and use that key in the Shopify Access Token back in Describely to retrieve the catalog.
Now that all your products are imported in Describley is time to use the best feature that the AI writer has to offer, so keep reading.
Optimize products in bulk
This feature is incredible.
Select all your products, tell the AI to generate titles and descriptions for all of them, and then wait a couple of seconds.
All the unpleasant titles and descriptions from the Aliexpress upload have been replaced with clear and easy-to-read ones.
Here are step-by-step instructions to use this feature:
Step 1:
Select the catalog you want to update and click on the “Bulk Edit” option from the top right corner.
Step 2:
Select de “Bulk Generate option” , choose all three options (Description, Title, Tags), and click “Start Bulk Generate”
Step 3
Wait for the Describely AI writer to finish generating and reviewing the improved content.
Step 4
Once you are ok with everything use the “Bulk Publish” option to update everything back in Shopify.
Next Steps
There you go! You now have a fully functional online store with optimized product content. Here are a few things you can do from here to start generating some revenue with your store.
- If you decide the Shopify free themes are not working for your online store, research and buy a theme that represents your brand better. (usually not the case for a debut online store)
- Create other pages such as “About Us” and “Contact Page”.
- Set up credit card payments in Shopify.
- Set up delivery regions and costs.
- Create paid campaigns on Google & Facebook Ads to promote your store.
And this is it for now. I hope this guide helped you set up your dropshipping store and how to make quick product optimization with the help of Describly AI.
